Caroline Pape was announced as an assistant coach for the GW men's and women's swimming & diving programs in August of 2025. Pape, a former Division I swimmer at Georgia Tech, came to GW after a successful collegiate career and with three years of coaching experience.
Pape swam four seasons for the Yellow Jackets from 2021-2025, competing primarily in short freestyle and butterfly events. Pape and Rego met at Georgia Tech in 2021 – Pape as a freshman swimmer and Rego as Associate Head Coach. Pape graduated this past spring with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Health & Medical Sciences.
Pape began her coaching career in 2022 as Assistant Coach at Swim Atlanta, a premier youth swim club. There, Pape worked to develop youth ages 6-18, teaching stroke, technique and the fundamentals of swimming. Pape designed training programs and introduced the strategies of goal making, team building and personal growth to help foster development.
Additionally, Pape served as Head Director for the Shark Pups Program at Garden Hills Pool in Atlanta for one summer, where she implemented a learn-to-swim program for children ages 4-8.
A member of Georgia Tech’s Student-Athlete Advisory Board, Pape also played a key role in fostering professional development opportunities for her peers and strengthening the relationships between athletes and administration.
Pape is originally from Winston-Salem, N.C. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Ky., and competed for Lakeside Swim Team before making her way to Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
