Men's Basketball Welcomes Richmond for Whiteout Saturday

WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball encounters its first repeat opponent of the season as the Richmond Spiders visit D.C. on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. on USA. All fans are encouraged to wear white for the annual Whiteout game and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free Whiteout t-shirt, presented by Metro.

Rafael Castro is one of just three players nationally with 35+ steals, 30+ assists and 25+ blocks this year and for his career, Castro is one block and two steals away from becoming just the fifth active player with 100+ assists, blocks and steals in his career.
Castro is on a heater as of late, tallying three-straight double-doubles, averaging 18.0 ppg and 14.0 rpg in the three contests. His six double-doubles are third in the A-10 this season. In 24 career regular season games against A-10 teams, Castro has averaged 17.2 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.6 bpg and 1.4 spg while shooting 66.2% (157/237) from the floor.
He faces a Richmond team that he dominated to the tune of 27 points and six rebounds on New Year's Eve, and has averaged 17.7 ppg and 10.7 rpg in three career games against the Spiders.

Trey Autry knocked down a career-high six trifectas on Dec. 31 at Richmond en route to a career-best 24 points. Autry has hit multiple threes in nine of his last 10 games, shooting 44.1% (30/68) over the stretch while scoring 13.1 ppg.
The three-year letterman has shown steady improvement during his GW career, shooting 34.2% (39/114) as a first-year, 38.6% (64/166) last year and now 42.4% (42/99) this year. Autry is sixth in GW's record book in career 3-point percentage (38.3%) and his 145 career 3s rank 13th all-time, three shy of tying Nimbo Hammons (1991-95) for 12th in 35 fewer games.

The Spiders have lived and died at the 3-point line in conference play. Richmond is shooting a league-best 42.6% from beyond the arc against A-10 foes, but is shooting at 46% in wins and 38% in losses.
AJ Lopez is the team's leading scorer at 12.6 ppg with Aiden Argabright (10.6 ppg) and Jaden Daughtry (10.2) the lone other double-figure scorers. Daughtry (23 points, 9-11 FG) and Will Johnston (20 points, 5-10 3s) were the top threats offensively vs. GW in the first meeting.
