Men’s Soccer Looks to Stay Hot at Home vs. Stetson, Fordham

WASHINGTON - The GW men's soccer team will look to stay undefeated at home this week when it hosts Stetson on Wednesday and Fordham on Saturday for the conference opener.

GW looks for continued success at the GW Soccer Field after starting the season 2-0-0 in front of its home fans. The Revolutionaries have outscored their opponents 4-1 on home turf and are looking for their first 3-0-0 start at home since 2012, when GW went a perfect 6-0-0 at home in the regular season.

The Revolutionaries go to battle on Wednesday against a 1-4-0 Stetson team that is coming off a 4-0 defeat at No. 5 NC State. The Hatters' lone win this year came at home in a 3-0 victory over Presbyterian. Stetson was 5-6-6 a year ago, which included an undefeated 3-0-4 mark in conference play before it was knocked out in the first round of the ASUN Tournament with a 3-0 loss to Central Arkansas. This is the second all-time meeting between the teams; GW and Stetson tied 2-2 at a neutral site in 2011.

Fordham comes to town Saturday at 3-2-2 after earning a draw at Rhode Island in its A-10 opener last weekend. The Rams finished 2024 at 8-6-5 overall and 4-1-3 in the A-10, which included a 3-1 victory over GW in the Bronx, before being knocked out of the A-10 Tournament Semifinal match in a 2-0 loss at Dayton. GW leads the all-time series against Fordham, 10-7-4; however, Fordham has won two of the last three matchups between the sides.
