Cross Country Set for Virginia Invitational

GW cross country is back in action Friday, traveling to Charlottesville, Va. to contend in the Virginia Invitational. On Friday morning, the Revolutionaries will be challenged in the field of 11, with UNC-Asheville, Norfolk State, Western Carolina, Johns Hopkins, Mary Washington, Howard, William & Mary, Richmond, Appalachian State, South Carolina (women) and JMU (women) all heading to Charlottesville to compete at Panorama Farms.
The men will run the 8k at 8:45 a.m., promptly followed by the women's 5k at 9:30 a.m. Nine GW runners will race in the men's 8k, and 10 women will race in the 5k.
On opening night in Leesburg, Va., sophomores Charles Mbuthia and Hadley Mahoney led GW in their respective categories, each earning the No. 4 finish in their events and recording a personal-best time. In addition, both the men and women placed three runners on the top-10 leaderboard.
