Lacrosse Shines in Season Opener, 16-7

WASHINGTON - GW lacrosse opened its season Friday afternoon, cruising to a swift 16-7 victory over the Howard Bison in an intracity matchup. Eight third-quarter goals powered by the GW offense led to the opening day victory in the District.
Grad transfer Katie Fullowan led the Buff & Blue attack, scoring five goals and setting up an assist over the course of the afternoon. Everly Kessler, Amelia Moran, Mckenna Jacobs and Caroline Sullivan each netted two goals apiece, while Hayley Bolton, Grace Curry and Stella Ray each got on the board as well.
The Revolutionaries led for all 60 minutes and outscored the Bison in the second half, 10-4.
NOTABLES
- First-years Grace Gordon and Gabi Greth made their collegiate debuts as starters, with Gordon joining the GW defense and Greth in goal.
- Fullowan and Sullivan each wore the Buff & Blue for the first time after transferring from Gettysburg College.

After starting the 2025 season in the win column, GW will host its Home Opener on the Vern vs. Kent State on Sunday afternoon. Opening draw is set for noon and the game will air live on ESPN+.
