WASHINGTON -Â Under the direction of third-year Head Coach Colleen McCaffrey, the GW women's lacrosse program will open its 2025 season in the District as the Revolutionaries will travel to Howard for an 11 a.m. matinee on Friday before welcoming Kent State to the Vern for a noon matchup on Sunday afternoon. Sunday's home opener will also air live on ESPN+.Â
WELCOME BACK
The GW Revs welcome back 20 returners for the 2025 season, including all five team captains in Kiki Rotay, Katie Hipp, Stella Ray, Everly Kessler and Parker Cranz. Graduate senior Phoebe Mullarkey will also return for GW to wear the Buff & Blue for her fifth collegiate season. Mullarkey and Kessler are the two top returning goal scorers for GW, after combining for 40 goals and 16 assists last season. The GW defense has been championed by Ray the past two seasons, as she holds the school record in both draw controls (87) and ground balls (60) earned in a single season.Â
NEW FACES
GW welcomes 12 newcomers for 2025, including 10 first-years and two transfers. Graduate transfers Katie Fullowan and Caroline Sullivan join the Revolutionaries from Gettysburg College, each playing four seasons there. First-year Gabi Greth joins the Buff & Blue in goal, while the rest of the newcomers will complement GW's field play.Â
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
The Howard Bison enter 2025 after a winless season in 2024. The Buff & Blue beat the Bison 21-7 in its season opener in 2024. Kent State finished its 2024 campaign at 6-11 and 3-4 in MAC play. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Golden Flashes and the Revolutionaries.Â
