WASHINGTON-Â With a 4-0 record, GW lacrosse is set to spend its final week of non-conference action in Washington, heading across town to American on Wednesday afternoon before hosting Radford on Saturday at the Vern.Â
DOMINANT IN NON-CONFERENCE
For the first time in program history, the GW Revs are out to a hot 4-0 start, with wins over Howard, Kent State, William & Mary and Robert Morris. Heading into the final week before A-10 play commences, GW remains the only undefeated team in the league. Through the first few weeks of play, GW has been strengthened by its newcomers, with grad transfers Katie Fullowan and Caroline Sullivan remaining efficient on offense, while first-years Gabi Greth and Grace Gordon have settled in on the defensive side of the game.Â
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS
The Eagles enter the midweek matchup after most recently falling to UMBC, 10-13, on Saturday. American has earned wins over George Mason and Howard, but stumbled against both Georgetown and Loyola Md. Last season, the Eagles won the intracity meeting 10-5. Wednesday's game will also serve as a collaboration with Bigfoot Endurance, an organization committed to spreading awareness and fostering hope in the fight against Parkinson's disease.Â
Radford heads to the District this week to face Howard before heading to the Vern to challenge the Buff & Blue. The Highlanders have earned a win over Delaware State and have fallen to both George Mason and UNC Charlotte. GW is 2-0 against Radford all-time, and this will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2019. Saturday's game will also feature a dedication to Our Stomping Ground, a local nonprofit focused on providing inclusive communities and affordable housing to people of all abilities within the D.C. area.Â
