WASHINGTON - When the George Washington and Dayton women's basketball teams met on Saturday in Washington the game started promisingly enough for the home team as the GW Revs rallied from a 14-11 deficit after the first period to take a 17-16 lead on a Gabby Reynolds' bucket with 7:33 to play in the second quarter. The Flyers didn't blink though and after closing the half on a 22-1 run, Dayton didn't look back and cruised to the 66-51 road win.
Reynolds went on to finish with a career-high tying 22 points to lead all scorers, while pacing the GW Revs with seven rebounds as well, in a game that the hosts shot .308 as compared to the visiting Flyers' .426 mark that included a 10-of-20 showing from three-point range.
Just four games remain in the regular season before the A-10 Championship tournament in Henrico, VA, March 5-9. GW travels to league-leading Richmond Wednesday for a 6 p.m. tip before returning home a week from today for Senior Day and Alumni Day against Davidson at noon. Both broadcasts will be carried live on ESPN+.
