Van Horn, Bayek Collect A-10 End-of-Season Awards

WASHINGTON - Cross country's first-year Maya Van Horn and junior Brayden Bayek collected All-Rookie and All-Academic honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Van Horn earned a slot on the All-Rookie team after earning one of the top seven rookie slots at the A-10 Championship, and crossed the finish line in 22:03, good for a No. 35 overall finish.
Bayek earned an All-Academic designation after finishing second in the GW men's cohort at this year's Championship. The junior, studying exercise science, notched a 17th place finish in the 8k with a time of 24:33. To be considered for All-Academic honors, a runner must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in at least their sophomore season of competition.
