Men’s Soccer Hosts Duquesne, Begins A-10 Play on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington University men's soccer team (2-5-0, 0-0-0 A-10) will embark on its first conference match of 2024 when it play hosts to Duquesne (4-1-1, 0-0-0 A-10) on Saturday. Kickoff at the GW Soccer Field is set for 1 p.m. and the match will air live on ESPN+.
WELCOME IBRAHIM
GW men's soccer has made one addition to the roster, adding defender Zain Ibrahim part-way through the season. From Zurich, Switzerland, Ibrahim comes to the Revolutionaries as a junior transfer from D-III Herkimer College, where he played in 26 matches over two seasons with one goal and six assists.
DATE WITH THE DUKES
Duquesne has started the season well but will arrive for Saturday's match coming off its first defeat of 2024, a 3-0 shutout loss at Robert Morris. The Dukes began the year with a four-game win streak, which was snapped by a 1-1 draw last Tuesday at No. 23 Notre Dame before their loss to RMU.
Offensively, Duquesne is led by Jaxon Ervin (2 goals, 3 assists), Maxi Hopfer (1 goal, 2 assists) and Ashton Jell (2 goals). Zoltan Nagy has guarded the Dukes' goal for all but one half this season, and he comes into Saturday's matchup with a 1.09 goals allowed average and a .824 save percentage.
