Men’s Soccer to Play Under the Lights at Dayton
10/4/2024 11:21:00 AM | Men's Soccer
WASHINGTON - The George Washington University men's soccer team (2-7-1, 0-2-0 A-10) is in search of its first A-10 win of the season on Saturday night when they visit Dayton (4-1-2, 0-0-1 A-10). Kickoff at Baujan Field is set for 7:00 p.m., and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
DUBON HEATING UP
After not picking up a point in the first eight matches of the season, sophomore forward Jaden Dubon has goals in each of the last two contests. Dubon scored the late equalizer vs. Howard to help GW earn a draw, and he converted for his second goal of the season in the loss at George Mason. The Corbin University transfer had seven goals in his lone season before GW, so if the Revolutionaries can keep him hot, the goals will likely keep coming.
ABOUT THE FLYERS
Dayton comes into Saturday's match at 4-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the A-10. The Flyers tied Loyola Chicago, 2-2, in their A-10 opener before its second conference match vs. VCU was postponed. Notably, Dayton also recently drew No. 9 Western Michigan, 1-1, at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
Dayton's leading scorer in 2024 is Hjalti Sigurdsson with five goals and one assist. Darlo Caetano has played between the posts in all seven matches this season and sports a 1.14 goals allowed average and .704 save percentage. The Flyers' full season statistics can be found here.
GW trails the all-time series vs. Dayton, 6-10-5; however, the last five matches have been split at an even 2-2-1.
