Men’s Soccer Battles Bonnies to 1-1 Draw

WASHINGTON - Nothing separated the George Washington men's soccer team (2-7-4, 0-4-1 A-10) and St. Bonaventure (4-5-3, 1-3-1) on Saturday afternoon as the teams fought to a 1-1 draw at the GW Soccer Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
15th Minute: St. Bonaventure's Umechi Akuazaoku found a streaking Daniel Helle who converted for his third goal of the season.
27th Minute: A St. Bonaventure foul in the box led to a GW penalty kick, which was confidently driven past the Bonnies' goalkeeper by Nacho Alastuey.
NOTEWORTHY

Alastuey is now 2-2 on penalty kicks this season and tied with Ben Hissrich with a team-high three goals.

GW played with 10 men for the final six minutes after Michael Khan was issued a straight red card in the 84th minute.

GW outshot St. Bonaventure, 19-13, including 7-5 in shots on goal.

Tom Macauley made four saves on 13 shots faced, while St. Bonaventure's Jules Dechert made five saves on 19 shots faced.
