NEWARK, N.J. – The George Washington women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match at NJIT on Wednesday afternoon. The match marked the final non-conference contest for the Revolutionaries this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

4^th Minute: NJIT quickly jumped ahead in the match, tallying a goal in the fourth minute. The goal was scored by Kelsey Ramos, her second of the season. Assisting on the play was Riley Jones.
90^th Minute: Following 85 minutes of scoreless action, the Highlanders capped off their win with a goal from Briana Andreoli, her fourth of the year. Bailey Chant picked up the assist for NJIT.

NOTEWORTHY

GW was outshot 27-8 during the match. NJIT also finished with a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Both teams took seven corner kicks.
NJIT committed 13 fouls, while GW was whistled for four. No yellow cards were issued during the match.
Andreoli and Maria Nogueira paced the Highlanders' offense with two shots on goal each. Chant had the most total shots for NJIT with six.
GW's offense was paced by junior Kelly Poole who tallied three shots. Senior Lauren Prentice recorded two shots, including GW's lone shot on goal.
One shot on goal is the lowest for GW this season as a team and ties the team's lowest total since Oct. 16, 2022, against UMass.
Graduate student Rose Hemans started in goal for GW. She played the entire first half and recorded one save.
Junior Ainsley Lumpe subbed in at goalkeeper at halftime and played the remaining 45 minutes for the Buff & Blue, recording four saves.
The match marked the first meeting between the programs all-time. NJIT now holds a 1-0 advantage over GW.
