Turner’s Goal Boosts Men’s Soccer Over La Salle in 1-0 Victory

PHILADELPHIA - Powered by Will Turner's third strike of the season, the George Washington men's soccer team (3-9-4, 1-5-1) downed La Salle (5-7-3, 1-4-2), 1-0, earning its first A-10 win of the season on Saturday evening in Philadelphia.
HOW IT HAPPENED
32nd Minute: Nico Medina forced a turnover near midfield and served an aerial pass over La Salle's backline and to a streaking Turner, who controlled the ball with his head and beat the Explorers' goalkeeper on the near side.

On his goal, Turner retook the team lead in points with his eighth and ninth points of the season.

First-year Medina earned the first point of his Buff and Blue career on his assist to Turner's goal.

Duncan Wegner earned his third win and second shutout of the season, and was credited with two saves in the victory.

Turner scored on GW's only shot on goal.

GW had four field players play the full 90 minutes: Carter Humm, Medina, Colin Prendergast and Sean Vaghedi.

La Salle's Americo Pereira (53rd minute) and Theo Maartensson (75th minute), along with GW's Vaghedi (34th minute) and Dan Dobrin (76th minute) each received a yellow card in the match.
