Colonials and Spiders tip-off at 7 p.m. from the Robins Center
WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball looks to improve to 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play for the first time since the 2014-15 season as it visits reigning conference tournament champion Richmond on Wednesday. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
BISHOP GOES FOR 40...AGAIN
Senior James Bishop IV's 40-point showing at Loyola Chicago Saturday was his second-highest showing of the season, just trailing his career-high, 44-point outburst at Hofstra on Nov. 14. Bishop joins St. Francis (PA)'s Josh Cohen as the only players in the country with multiple 40-point games.
Bishop is the first Colonial with multiple 40-point games in the same season since Bob Tallent scored 46 and 41 in consecutive games in January of 1969. Both of Bishop's 40-point performances have come in true road games. Counting his 26-point effort at Radford, Bishop is now averaging 36.7 ppg in GW's three true road games this season.

Bishop earned his first career Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor on Monday for his efforts at Loyola Chicago. Bishop, who finished second in the A-10 in scoring each of the last two years, is tops in the circuit and eighth in the nation at 21.9 ppg.
He is the only player in the A-10 to average over 20 per game and one of just two players nationally to average 21.0 ppg and 5.0 apg. The Baltimore native has reached double figures in 53 of 61 career games with GW, including 29 20-point games, four 30-point games and two 40-point games. He sits 38th on GW's all-time scoring list with 1,133 points in just 61 career games with the Buff & Blue.
OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
GW's 97 points on Saturday were the most in a regulation game since a 103-77 thrashing of Richmond on Feb. 21, 2018. The Colonials shot over 60% from the field for the first time since that same Richmond game, hitting 32-of-50 shots on Saturday.
Per KenPom, GW has moved into the top 100 nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency, ranking 98th with 1.056 points per possession. The main reason is GW is fifth in the country in 2-point field goal percentage for the season, shooting 59.4% inside the arc. The Buff & Blue are tops in the Atlantic 10, and 22nd nationally, in effective field goal percentage of 55.0%.

A LOOK AT THE SPIDERS
Last year's Atlantic 10 tournament champions advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after knocking off Iowa in the Round of 64. The Spiders lost a majority of their production from a veteran team last season, with Grant Golden and Jacob Gilyard serving as the primary departures.
UR was projected seventh in the A-10 this year and sits at 7-7 (0-1) after a loss to George Mason Saturday. Five of Richmond's seven losses have come by four points or fewer.
