TERRIFIC STRETCH FROM TAIWO
In GW's last game at George Mason, Mayowa Taiwo put together another all-around effort for the Colonials. The redshirt senior scored 10 points and had 12 rebounds for her team-leading sixth double-double and third in the last four games.
Over the last four contests, Taiwo is averaging a double-double (10.3 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game), while also shooting an impressive 57 percent from the field.
MIA'S SWEET 16
Mia Lakstigala once again showed her dynamic scoring ability against George Mason, scoring a team-high 14 points at a 50 percent shooting clip. The Naperville, Ill. native enters this weekend as the team leader in points per game (13.8) and has scored in double figures in 16 games this year.
Lakstigala is the first GW player to record 16 double-digit scoring performances in their first 18 games since Jonquel Jones also accomplished the feat in the 2015-16 season.
SCOUTING VCU
Despite high expectations entering 2022-23, The Rams will enter Sunday's contest at 5-12 overall and 2-3 in the Atlantic 10. Additionally, the Rams only have two wins in their last 10 games, while allowing 64.5 points against and being outscored by a -5.6 scoring margin.
Sarah Te-Biasu will lead the VCU attack on Sunday against GW. In her last game, Te-Biasu went off for a career-high 30 points against Davidson. The junior is averaging 16.8 ppg, which is sixth-most in the A-10.
