STRONG A-10 START
Following its 56-43 win at St. Bonaventure, GW has now won two of its first three Atlantic 10 games and is off to its best conference start since the 2018-19 campaign.
GW's success in conference play has come courtesy of its defense and rebounding prowess. Entering Wednesday's game, the Colonials are first in the A-10 in opponent's rebounds against, allowing just 30 rebounds a game to the opposition. Meanwhile, GDUB is fifth in the conference in scoring defense (61.0 ppg) and steals (8.3).
NICE NUMBERS NYA R.
After dropping a team-high 17 points against the Bonnies last Sunday, first-year Nya Robertson is now averaging 11.4 points per game. Robertson's scoring average is first among all rookies in the Atlantic 10 and is 24th most among all scorers. Additionally, the Fort Worth native's 27-point contest against Howard is the 10th highest scoring game in the A-10 this year.
Currently, Robertson is on pace to be the first GW first-year to average double figures since Ali Brigham averaged 11.9 points per game in the 2019-20 season.
SCOUTING FORDHAM:
The Rams enter Wednesday afternoon's contest with a perfect 3-0 record in the conference and a 11-5 record overall. Fordham has also won four-straight games and seven of its last eight contests. Throughout this season, the Rams have been led by an unrelenting offensive attack. Fordham is currently averaging 73.8 points a night and has an impressive +10.6 scoring margin.
Individually, Fordham boasts perhaps the best scoring backcourt in the A-10. Graduate guard Asiah Dingle, who played under Coach McCombs at Stony Brook, currently leads the conference in points per game (19.3), while fellow guard Anna DeWolfe ranks fifth in the A-10 in scoring (17.7).
HISTORY AGAINST THE RAMS
Wednesday will be the 31st meeting between GW and their A-10 rival from The Bronx. GW will enter the clash with a 20-10 record against the Rams, but Fordham has dominated the series as of late, having won six-straight games. GW's last win over the Rams was a 63-46 effort back on Feb. 1, 2017.
