Four different runners earn All-Conference honors in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. - GW outdoor track and field competed in the A-10 Championships on Saturday and Sunday, and student-athletes from both the men's and women's programs put together top-level performances in Richmond. The Buff & Blue recorded three first place finishes and had five runners earn All-Conference honors.
GW's biggest success came in the men's and women's steeplechase, where the Colonials captured first in both events. In the women's steeplechase, Kathryn Nohilly finished first, earning all-conference honors in a time of 10:33.01. Just one second behind Nohilly was Margaret Coogan, who also earned an all-conference nod with a time of 10:33.89.
In the men's steeplechase, Logan Broedner crushed the competition. Broedner finished nine second ahead of second place, crossing the finish line in a time of 9:08.53. Broedner's All-Conference honors are the first of his career, and he joins Carter Day (2018) as the only Colonials to earn All-Conference honors in the men's steeplechase.
Rounding out GW's All-Conference honors were Ryan Fowkes, who won the Men's 1500m in a time of 3:55.33, and Thomas Sand, who placed third in the men's 10k with a personal record time of 30:57.58.
In addition to GW's All-Conference recognitions, Miles Grant set a new school record in the men's long jump, recording a jump of 7.04 meters. The Colonials also registered 14 top-10 finishes and set four personal best times.
