GW Athletics Soars Past Giving Day Goals, Raises Over $100,000

On Wednesday, April 6, the George Washington University hosted its second annual university-wide Day of Giving as an opportunity for the community to come together to drive philanthropic support to GW.

The GW Athletics community of students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends helped surpass the department's lofty goals, raising more than $112,00 in the 24 hour initiative. Thanks to the tremendous donor support, doors were opened for all student-athletes who represent the Buff and Blue.

In total the effort surged past the goal of 250 contributing donors, unlocking a $5,000 challenge gift from Athletics Advisory Council Chairwoman Michelle Rubin, ESIA BA '91.

"Our donors continue to inspire our student-athletes, coaches and staff as we pursue championships in the classroom, community and competition," said GW Athletics Director Tanya Vogel. "Following the gifts as they came in throughout the day was so much fun, and these results demonstrate the pride and passion our community has for GW Athletics."

The generosity of donors has a lasting impact on GW student-athletes and teams and continues to provide opportunities for monumental, Only at GW moments.
