Sosnowski, Kazmierski and O'Rourke Earn 2026 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award

Three GW student-athletes have been honored with the 2026 Outstanding Academic Achievement Award: Benjamin Sosnowski, Kylie Kazmierski and Catherine O'Rourke.
A way to honor academic excellence, the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award is presented to students who are in approximately the top two percent of their respective school, by grade point average, who have earned at least 60 college credits by the fall 2025 semester, with at least 30 being obtained at GW.
Sosnowski, a student in the Elliott School of International Affairs, earned his second Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in as many years after helping GW men's swimming & diving to another Atlantic 10 title this season. Sosnowski scored 49 points at the 2026 A-10 Championships, highlighted by his victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, winning the event for the second straight year as he tapped in first at 1:57.02 in the A-final. Sosnowski was named to both the A-10 All Academic Team and CSC Academic All-District Team for the second consecutive season in 2026.Â
Kazmierski, a student at the Milken Institute of Public Health, was a key contributor to GW Gymnastics' floor lineup and joined the beam rotation this past season. As the team's floor leadoff gymnast for two seasons, she earned a career-high 9.875. She is also a four-time All-EAGL Scholastic Team member, a Dean's List honoree and a WCGA All-American.
Hailing from the School of Business, O'Rourke made an immediate impact on GW's floor lineup during her senior season, notching a career-high 9.875. She joined Kazmierski as a four-time Dean's List honoree, All-EAGL Scholastic Team selection and WCGA All-American
