Track & Field Earns Pair of Event Wins, Breaks Two School Records

Fowkes and Nohilly set new GW high marks in the 800m and 1500m

FAIRFAX, Va. - GW track & field put together an outstanding performance at the Colonial Relays on Saturday, bringing home a pair of victories while setting two new GW records in the women's 1500m and men's 800m.

On the men's side, Ryan Fowkes had double delight in the 800m. The junior took home a victory in the event while also setting a new school record with a time of 1:52.51. Fowkes' record time beat the previous high mark by more than a full second.

For the women, both Kathryn Nohilly and Margaret Coogan continued their individual success. Coogan rolled to a win in the women's steeplechase, finishing over 30 seconds faster than the next competitor. Meanwhile, Nohilly placed second in the women's 1500m, setting a new GW record with a time of 4:24.94. Nohilly had previously set the GW record in the 1500m earlier this season.

In addition to the school records and wins, the Colonials also set eight personal records and recorded six top-10 finishes on Saturday.
