Sorkenn and Kataoka Take Home A-10 Postseason Honors

Graduate student and first-year combined to pace GW’s attack in 2022
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Rachel Sorkenn and Aoi Kataoka of George Washington women's soccer have earned Atlantic 10 postseason recognition, the league announced on Tuesday. Sorkenn was named to the All-Conference Second Team in the attack, while Kataoka was named to the Atlantic 10's All-Rookie team.
Sorkenn, one of the most prolific goal scorers in GW history, led the Buff & Blue offense with nine goals and 19 points in 2022. Her goal total was fourth-most in the conference while her point total was fifth-most. Sorkenn ends her GW career with 22 career goals, which is tied for seventh all-time in program history. This is Sorkenn's second time being named to the A-10's All-Conference Second Team (2019).
Kataoka, a first-year hailing from Paramus, N.J., led all GW rookies in scoring this year. She tallied one goal and five points while seeing over 1100 minutes on GW's attack, midfield and defensive backline.
