GW returns to D.C. to face Old Dominion next Saturday
BLACKSBURG, VA - GW swimming and diving kicked off the 2022-23 season, falling to ACC opponent Virginia Tech. The season begins the same as the last, falling to the Hokies on opening weekend, but GW will look to regroup next weekend against Old Dominion University.
Men's Highlights:
Last season, GW set an A-10 record for the men's 200-yard medley relay. Today, GW would place third in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing closely behind a pair of Hokie teams. Karol Mlynarczyk (backstroke), Preston Lin (breaststroke), Djurdje Matic (fly), and Matthew Whelan (freestyle) combined for the third-place finish.
Philip Moldovanu placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle. Moldovanu was just 2.5 seconds behind the leader.
Daniel Nagy claimed second in the 200-yard fly, finishing just under a second slower than the top finisher.
