Buff & Blue begin A-10 play on Saturday
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Making final preparations before Atlantic 10 play, GW men's soccer fell to William & Mary, 1-0, on Tuesday evening at Martin Family Stadium.
The Tribe scored the game's lone goal in the 35th minute on a shot by Alexander Levengood.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 35th Minute: Levengood found room near the top of the 18-yard box to bury the left-footed strike that put the Tribe in front. Diba Nwegbo and John Eberle helped set up the score. (William & Mary 1, GW 0)
NOTEWORTHY
- After being outshot by a 5-1 margin over the opening 45 minutes, GW largely dictated play after halftime with a 7-3 shot advantage the rest of the way.
- Oscar Haynes Brown, Tom Cooklin and Roee Tenne recorded shots on goal for the Buff and Blue.
- GW's eight corner kicks were a season high.
- Justin Grady made three saves in the GW net. The junior keeper has now allowed one goal or fewer in five of six games this season.
