Pareja scores first goal against Cavaliers this season
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The third-ranked team in the country proved its ranking on Sunday afternoon as the Virginia Cavaliers knocked off GW women's soccer, 6-1.

• 5th Minute: Alexa Spaanstra started the scoring for UVA with a second-chance opportunity.
• 15th Minute: Rebecca Jarrett doubled the 'Hoos lead from inside the box, potting the shot inside the near post.
• 17th Minute: The Cavaliers extended the lead to 3-0 thanks to a header from Claire Constant.
• 48th Minute: Maria Pareja scored her first goal of the season against Virginia in more than 317 minutes of action, sliding a shot in the bottom left off a great feed from Abby Mansoor.
• 49th Minute: UVA countered right back with Jarrett's second goal of the day.
• 66th Minute: Haley Hopkins made it 5-1, chipping one in to the left corner.
• 87th Minute: Cam Lexow finished off the scoring after intercepting a goal kick and turning it into a goal.

• Pareja's goal was the ninth of her career and first of the season. Along with her assist at Navy, Pareja now has three points on the year.
• Prior to her marker, UVA had not allowed a goal in 776 minutes, dating back to last year.
• Tamaki Machi made 11 saves in net, as Virginia fired off 33 shots on the day, including 17 on net.
