Neyman nets goal in second straight contest
WASHINGTON - GW women's soccer opened up its home campaign on Thursday evening at the Mount Vernon Soccer Field, battling both UNCG and a setting sun thanks to a kick-off delayed by weather. The end result was a 1-1 draw that was called five minutes into the first overtime on account of darkness.

• 17th Minute: UNCG broke the egg after GW had controlled the majority of the early possession, converting an odd-man break into a goal from Maddy Gilhool.
• 62nd Minute: The Buff & Blue evened the score in the early stages of the second half with Sammy Neyman potting her second goal in as many games after a nice feed into the box from Tori Minda.

• GW dominated most of the statistical categories, holding an 18-8 edge in shots and a 13-4 advantage in shots on target.
• The Colonials held the Spartans to just one off-target shot in the second half.
• The Buff & Blue's goal was the first allowed by UNCG keeper Aiyana Tyler-Cooper in 262 minutes of action this year.
• After not scoring in her first 32 career games, Neyman is now the team leader with two goals this year. Minda tallied her first point of the season with the assist.
