Colonials combine for highest finish in program history
MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - GW cross country shined in the Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday at Pole Green Park with the men's and women's teams finishing in the top five in the same year for the first time in program history.
Individually, the Colonials had four All-Conference performers in a single year, also establishing a new program-best.
NOTES
• Buoyed by three top-10 finishes for the first time in program history, the women's team finished third overall for its second straight top-three finish at the conference meet.
• For the second straight year, GW had three All-Conference honorees - Margaret Coogan, Kathryn Nohilly and Peri Pavicic. Coogan is just the fifth Colonial to earn multiple All-Conference distinctions in program history.
• Nohilly and Pavicic were two of six GW harriers to set PRs. Their times now rank as the third- and sixth-fastest 5k times in program history.
• The men placed fifth overall, besting their pre-race projection of ninth, and securing the top team finish since placing third in 2017.
• Sophomore Ryan Fowkes earned All-Conference honors with his 15th place finish, become the first Colonial man to earn the distinction since 2018. His PR is now the seventh-fastest 8k time in program history
