Buff & Blue back on The Vern on Saturday
GW men's soccer continues its Atlantic 10 slate on Saturday, welcoming Davidson to the Mount Vernon Campus for an 11 a.m. start.
The match will be streamed via ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT: GW opened A-10 play on Wednesday, battling George Mason to a scoreless deadlock. Both teams put three of their six shots on net, but neither side could break through in 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods.
In the Buff and Blue net, Justin Grady made three stops to earn his second shutout in three games to open the season.
WORKING OVERTIME: All three of GW's contests so far this season have been scoreless through 90 minutes and continued into extra time. It's the first time the Buff and Blue have played three straight overtime contests since September 2018 when they had a win over Binghamton, a scoreless draw vs. then-No. 15 Duke and a loss vs. Davidson over an 11-day span.
GW's all-time record book shows the program hasn't played four straight OT games since the 1984 season when it went beyond regulation in five consecutive outings vs. Brooklyn College (0-0 T), William & Mary (1-1 T), West Virginia (0-0 T), La Salle (2-2 T), Towson (3-2 L).
DYNAMITE DEFENSE: GW has conceded just one goal through three games and 317 minutes of play. Against George Mason, the unit dug in late to withstand a final push from the Patriots after a red card left the Buff and Blue down a man.
For the season, Grady has stopped 10 of 11 shots on net, good for a .909 save percentage. The sophomore keeper from Wyncote, Pa., has recorded clean sheets in five of his 10 career starts. He owns a 1.16 career goals against average.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON: The Wildcats dropped to 1-3-1 and 0-1-1 in A-10 play with a 1-0 setback vs. VCU on Wednesday night that saw the Rams break the stalemate in the 89th minute.
Adam Luckhurst has had a hand in four of Davidson's five goals this season with two scores and two assists. The first-year from Santa Barbara, Calif., was named A-10 Rookie of the Week last week after scoring twice in a draw vs. George Mason.

Feb. 9, 2021 marked the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Congress' establishment of The George Washington University's charter. GW Athletics is proud to be part of the university's bicentennialcelebration, honoring the historic milestone with a variety of initiatives meant to highlight the best of the Buff and Blue. Inducted into the GW Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997, Derya Yavalar was a four-year standout from 1972-75, totaling 34 goals and 12 assists to rank sixth on the program's career points list with 80. He was a key contributor to the program's first NCAA run in 1974 and still shares the all-time mark for goals in a game after finding the net five times in a win over Gallaudet that season.
