NAPLES, Fla. - GW men's basketball takes on Kent State in the semifinals of the Naples Invitational on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on FloHoops.
LOCKING DOWN THE 3: GW held Wright State to 3-of-23 shooting (13.0%) from beyond the arc on Monday, yet another strong showing in 3-point defense. The Colonials are 17th in the country, allowing opponents to shoot just 22.9% from downtown this season. GW has also limited the opportunities with just 30% of the opponents' shots coming from deep, the 38th-best mark in the NCAA. The end result has been opponents getting just 17.8% of their points from 3-pointers, the ninth-fewest in the country.

The Colonials have not held opponents below 30% from beyond the arc since 1997 when they finished 15th in the country at 29.7%.
HE'S HEATING UP: After a relatively slow start to the campaign, junior James Bishop has found the scoring knack, averaging 18.3 ppg over his last three contests. Bishop is shooting 41.3% from the floor and 30.4% from beyond the arc over the last three games compared to 20.9% and 15.7%, respectively, in the season's first three games. Bishop entered this week leading the A-10, and ranking in the top 30 in the NCAA, in total field goal attempts and 3-point attempts.
A WELL-ROUNDED THREAT EMERGES: As if it wasn't enough that Ricky Lindo Jr. was the only player in the Atlantic 10 to average a double-double last season, the senior has developed a knack from deep this season with a 10-of-18 (55.6%) showing from beyond the arc. Additionally, Lindo dished out a career-high six assists on Monday in the win over Wright State. The D.C. native has also notched multiple steals in five of six games, including three in each of the last two affairs.
A LOOK AT THE GOLDEN FLASHES: Kent State is 2-1 following its opening round win vs. James Madison (74-69) on Monday. The Golden Flashes have been among the most consistent programs in the country, recording 24 consecutive seasons with a .500 record or better. Kent was picked to finish fourth in this year's MAC preseason poll.
Former Duquesne guard Sincere Carry is the Golden Flashes' leading scorer at 14.7 ppg. KSU is 34th in the country, hitting 40% of its shots from beyond the arc, providing 36.1% of its points, 98th in the NCAA.
