Grady made five saves in clean sheet
AMHERST, Mass. - GW men's soccer went on the road and picked up a point in the Atlantic 10 standings on Saturday, battling UMass to a scoreless draw at Rudd Field.
Justin Grady made five saves over the 110 minutes in his second clean sheet of the season.
NOTEWORTHY
- GW totaled nine shots with three of them on goal. After going without a shot on frame throughout the second half and 19 minutes of OT, the Buff and Blue had an opportunity in the closing seconds, but UMass keeper Marvyn Dorchin stopped the try by Aaron Kronenberg.
- GW held UMass without a shot on goal over the opening 45 minutes. The Minutemen put four attempts on frame in the second half before testing Grady for the final time in the 109th minute. The home team finished with 15 shots overall.
- Grady's shutout was the 10th of his career and first since the season-opening victory vs. VMI back on Aug. 26.
- Oscar Haynes Brown tallied a team-high three shots (one on goal).
- GW set a season high by earning nine corner kicks.
UP NEXT: GW heads back on the road Tuesday for its non-conference finale. The Buff and Blue will face Wake Forest in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
