Buff and Blue face Minutemen on Saturday
GW men's soccer continues its Atlantic 10 slate at UMass on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start at Rudd Field.
LAST TIME OUT: GW came up short on its home field on Wednesday in a 1-0 setback vs. Dayton. The Flyers went ahead on an own goal in the 59th minute and held on to claim the A-10 road victory.
STRENGTH IN NUMBERS: GW has leaned on its depth throughout the season with 23 student-athletes making at least one start through 12 games. Everyone in that group has seen action in at least five contests, as well.
Defender Joshua Yurasits and goalkeeper Justin Grady are the only ones to start every game this fall.
Head Coach Craig Jones' squad has found offense from different sources with seven members of the Buff and Blue recording goals, paced by four scores from Oscar Haynes Brown, and 12 different student-athletes registering at least one point.
SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN: UMass dropped a 4-2 decision at Dayton last Saturday to fall to 7-3-1 overall and 1-2 in A-10 play.
The Minutemen, who earned an at-large berth into last spring's NCAA Tournament, are paced offensively by Filippo Begliardi Ghidini, who is tied for the A-10 lead with seven goals. Marvyn Dorchyn has a 1.22 goals against average and 34 total saves in the UMass net.
UP NEXT: GW has another road test coming Tuesday when it travels to Wake Forest for its non-conference finale.
