Women’s Rowing's Varsity Eight Named A-10 Co-Boat of the Week

Colonials earn weekly honor after win over West Virginia
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The George Washington women's rowing's varsity eight has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Boat of the week, the conference announced on Friday afternoon.
The Colonials' varsity eight boat posted a time of 6:35.65 to finish 10.20 seconds before West Virginia (6:45.85) last Friday on the Potomac.
As a team, the squad swept the visiting Mountaineers in all four races.
"After a tough weekend in Cherry Hill, the Varsity 8 really stepped it up in their focus and mentality," said head coach Marci Robles. "Our race against West Virginia was a better reflection of what we've seen from them day in and day out in practice. I'm proud of their efforts and look forward to building off of this race as we enter the last two weeks before conference."
GW is set to defend the George's Cup on Sunday morning on the Occoquan. Racing is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m.
