Sophomore diver finished 10th on platform
Nachtwey totaled 507.75 points over 12 dives to wrap three days of competition at Navy's Lejeune Hall, including a score of 271.35 in the final round to set the program's six-dive mark.
The sophomore from Ohio sat in 11th after scoring 236.40 in the preliminary round before moving up a spot with his record finish. He topped his previous six-dive mark of 267.35, set at the same pool last January.
With Wednesday's record-breaking effort, Nachtwey put the finishing touches on an impressive second season in Buff and Blue. He was named Most Outstanding Diver at the A-10 Championships after earning gold on 3-meter and silver on 1-meter to help the Colonials claim a third straight team title.
Nachtwey and senior Jake Ortiz earned spots at the NCAA qualifying meet where they faced off this week against the region's top divers. Nachtwey led the Colonials on the 1-meter board Monday before Ortiz set the pace on the 3-meter board to close an excellent collegiate career on the boards.
This marked the third straight season that GW advanced at least two divers to the NCAA Zone A Championships.
