The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its first set of weekly awards for the 2026-27 swimming & diving season, which included a trio of Revolutionary student-athletes: Andres Brooks for Men's Performer of the Week, Isabel Sayag for Women's Performer of the Week, and Efe Isler for Men's Rookie of the Week.
Brooks, the conference's top rookie performer at last year's A10 Championships, won every race that he competed in as he helped the men's team to a dual meet victory at William & Mary, winning a pair of individual swims along with two relays. Individually, Brooks competed in the 100- and 200-yard flys, finishing well ahead of the competition in both as he tapped in at 47.40 and 1:44.52, respectively. Brooks' time in the 100 fly entered him into GW's all-time top ten as the ninth-quickest time in program history. As part of GW's top relay team, Brooks also helped the crew to first-place swims in both the 200-yard medley relay (1:28.84) and the 400-yard free relay (2:59.00).
Sayag, a junior butterfly/IM specialist, also took A10 Performer of the Week after winning both butterfly events in the dual vs. William & Mary. Sayag tapped in first in both the 100-yard fly (55.04) IM and 200-yard fly (2:02.18). She also helped the 200-yard medley relay (1:40.95) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:24.66) to second-place finishes.
Isler, swimming in his first meet for the Revolutionaries, showed out with wins in both events he competed in. Isler finished the 1000-yard free in first place (9:08.55), just 2.4 seconds behind the GW record (9:06.15) set by Mikhail Lyubavskiy in 2024. Later in the meet, Isler had a strong showing of endurance again by claiming victory in the 500-yard free (4:29.49).
The trio of weekly award winners and the rest of the Revolutionaries return to action at the Dual Meet Tournament, Oct. 16-17 at McCauley Aquatic Center in Atlanta. GW opens the meet with a dual vs. Auburn at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 16.
