Men’s Swimming & Diving Picked First, Women’s Team Picked Second in A10 Preseason Poll
10/5/2026 12:00:00 PM | Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its swimming & diving preseason poll on Monday, with both GW men's and women's swimming & diving selected to finish in the same spots as last season. The men's program was picked first in the conference while the women's program was selected second behind Richmond.
GW men's swimming & diving is going for its seventh consecutive A10 title this year, which would set a new conference men's swimming & diving record for most consecutive championships won. The men's team maxed out the poll with 49 points and all seven first-place votes from each member institution.
GW women's swimming & diving finished second in the poll after falling just short in a down-to-the-wire conference meet last season. The Revolutionaries will look to get back on top of the league to win their sixth conference title in the last eight years. In this year's poll, Richmond collected eight of the first-place votes and sits in first with 94 points, while GW earned 87 points for second place, and Duquesne trailed in third with 85 points, including two first-place votes.
The full preseason poll can be found below. GW swimming & diving opens their 2026-27 season tomorrow as the swimmers travel to Williamsburg, Va., to take on William & Mary in a dual meet, and diving goes to Annapolis, Md., to dual Navy.
