Divers Begin NCAA Zone Championships

Peter Nachtwey led the Buff and Blue on 1-meter
Fresh off earning Most Outstanding Diver honors at the Atlantic 10 Championships, Nachtwey led the way at Navy's Lejeune Hall by taking 25th on the 1-meter board. The sophomore from Ohio landed a score of 240.80 to lead all A-10 competitors and improve 11 spots from his showing in the event at last year's NCAA qualifying meet.
Ortiz, a senior from New York, checked in 31st with a score of 220.40 to begin his third and final appearance at NCAA Zones.
Nachtwey and Ortiz continue at the meet Tuesday competing on the 3-meter board before the action wraps up Wednesday with platform diving.
