BETHLEHEM, Pa. - GW women's cross country capped off its record-breaking season in style on Friday afternoon, finishing a program-best ninth at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, hosted by Lehigh.

Senior Suzanne Dannheim stole the show with a seventh place individual finish to qualify her for the national championship meet next Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.

NOTES

• Dannheim is the second Colonial in program history to punch her ticket to the national meet, joining Megan Hogan who did so in 2009 and 2010.

• The Jacksonville, Fla., native recorded the second-highest individual finish in team history at the regional meet, trailing just Hogan's third place in 2010.

• Dannheim's 6k time of 20:24.6 is the third-fastest in program history and second-fastest for her this season.

• Junior Margaret Coogan capped off her year with a 39th place finish and the fifth-fastest time ever for the women.

• The team as a whole finished ninth, the first top-10 in GW history. The previous best was 14th last year.

• The last five years have featured five of the top eight regional finishes for the women's program since its inception in 1991.

• First-year James Glockenmeier and sophomore Isaiah Robyne competed for the GW men as individuals.

• Both were competing in their first 10k race and held their own, finishing 13th and 15th among first-year competitors.
