WASHINGTON - After a strong start to its spring season at the ODU Invite last weekend, the George Washington women's rowing team will compete on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia at the 36th Annual Murphy Cup Regatta on Saturday.
GW is appearing at the historic race for the fifth consecutive season and for the sixth time in the last seven years.
The Colonials will send four boats to the event. The regatta begins with morning preliminaries followed by afternoon finals.
Last season, the Colonials sent both the Varsity 8 and JV8 to the Petite Finals, where the boats earned a pair of second-place performances.
The field includes many top crews out of the Atlantic 10 (Duquesne, Saint Joseph's, La Salle, Fordham Rhode Island), ACC, CAA, Patriot League and AAC.
