Women's XC Posts Highest Regional Finish in Program History

Team places 14th led by Dannheim; Men compete as individuals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The GW women's cross country team wrapped up its fall campaign on a positive note, finishing a program-best 14th at the Mid-Atlantic Regional race hosted by Penn State on Friday. The men's team competed as individuals.

NOTES

• The women's team placed 14th of 30 teams at the race, besting its previous top performance of 15th in 2016.

• Junior Suzanne Dannheim was once again GW's top finisher with a time of 21:45 to finish 23rd. The time is the ninth-fastest in program history at the 6k distance.

• Dannheim improved her finish by nearly 70 spots at the regional race after coming in 92nd last year and is the highest GW finisher since Megan Hogan placed 3rd in 2010.

• Sophomore Margaret Coogan shaved 16 seconds off her previous personal-best, finishing 84th in a time of 22:53.

• The men were led by sophomore Jackson Cronin, who erased eight seconds off his PR with a time of 32:12 to place 36th.

• Senior Andrew Weber finished in the top-50 as well with a time 32:33 while fellow senior Connor James made his first career appearance at the regional race and finished in a time of 33:42.
