Colonials remain second after two days
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jackie Torrez posted a victory in the 400-yard individual medley to pace George Washington women's swimming and diving on Saturday at the Queens University Fall Frenzy.
Through two days at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, the Colonials (1,217.5 points) sit second behind the host Royals (1,613.5), who have won four straight Division II national titles. They flexed their depth again Saturday, especially in the 100-yard butterfly in which they had eight scorers.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Torrez nipped Francesca Bains of Queens University by six-tenths of a second with a time of 4:18.27, less than a second off her personal-best time set at last season's Atlantic 10 Championships.
