GW swimming & diving seniors Ava Topolewski and Olivia Paquette are heading to college swimming and diving's top meet this week as they are both set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The meet is held at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, and runs from March 18-21.
Topolewski qualified to swim in the 1,650 free at NCAAs after winning the A-10 championship in the event with an NCAA-cut time (16:18.61). The 1,650 free is the first event of the championships, with all but the top heat of the timed finals beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the top heat at 6:00 p.m. Topolewski is making her second trip to the NCAA Championships. In her first trip as a sophomore in 2024, Topolewski swam the 1,650 free and the 500 free, claiming a high-finish of 39th in the 1,650 free (16:22.75).
Paquette will compete in the 3-meter dive at the NCAA Championships on Friday with prelims at 12:15 p.m., followed by finals at 6:25 p.m. Paquette is making her first career trip to the national meet, doing so after qualifying in the 3-meter dive at NCAA Zone A last week. Paquette was wedged in fifth place (294.10) in a tight field after prelims of the Zone A 3-meter dive, needing to hold her place to secure one of five qualifying spots. Paquette clutched up in the final, out-earning the sixth-place competitor by just under two points to finish fifth (605.05) to secure her bid to NCAAs.
ESPN+ will provide live digital coverage for every session of the meet.
