GW's baseball, women's basketball, women's cross country and track, gymnastics, men's rowing, women's soccer, men's and women's squash, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and women's water polo programs all achieved a perfect 100 Graduation Success Rate over a four year period.
"We stress to our student-athletes that coming to GW isn't a four-year decision to compete but a lifetime decision to obtain an education and degree that will benefit them for the rest of their lives as leaders in our society," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Patrick Nero. "The fact that they are leaving as graduates from this world class university is the strongest testament to the hard work of our student-athletes, administrators and coaches who make academics the utmost priority."
The NCAA developed the Division I Graduation Success Rate in response to college and university presidents who wanted graduation data that more accurately reflect the mobility among all college students today, as the Graduation Success Rate accounts for the academic outcomes of student-athletes who transfer from one institution to another. GSR data is based on a six-year cohort prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education with all scholarship student-athletes across the country who entered college in 2010 considered.
The graduation rate is based on a comparison of the number of students who entered college and the number of those who graduated within six years. The GSR provides information for student-athletes who received athletics aid for any period of time during their freshman year.
