Giving Day Yields Record Success for GW Athletics

GW Athletics is proud to announce a historic performance during the 2026 GW Giving Day, which concluded Wednesday, April 8. The Buff & Blue community came together, 755 donors strong, to provide over $200,000 in unprecedented support.
In a span of just 24 hours, GW Athletics surpassed its ambitious fundraising goals, securing critical resources that will directly impact GW's 400 student-athletes across 20 varsity programs.
"Thank you to our amazing GW community for coming out strong to support GW Athletics on Giving Day," said GW Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, Michael Lipitz. "On behalf of GW Athletics and all of our student-athletes, thank you again and Raise High!"
The funds raised during Giving Day are vital to George Washington's teams' successes and individual student-athlete excellence. These contributions provide the necessary edge for proper travel, high-performance equipment, and academic support that allow GW's student-athletes to thrive in the heart of the nation's capital.
On-campus energy reached a fever pitch during the midday celebration Tuesday at Kogan Plaza, where student-athletes engaged with the broader GW community to share their stories of how philanthropy has shaped their collegiate careers.
