NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington senior Ryan Tucker has been named to the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team, the league office announced on Thursday.
The award marks the second Academic All-Conference award of the calendar year for Tucker after he was named to the conference's cross country honor roll in November.
The Rutherford, New Jersey, native enjoyed a fine indoor track season, culminating with an 11th-place finish in the 3,000-meter run at last month's Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Tucker set GW's program record in the 3000m earlier this season when he tallied a time of 8:24.75 at the Armory Track Invitational back in February. He has also set a personal-best time in the mile (4:20.32) at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational.
In the classroom, Tucker maintains a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average and will graduate in May with a Bachelor's degree in English. He is a five-time selection to the GW Department of Athletics & Recreation Dean's List and has been named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll on three occasions. GW opens its outdoor track schedule on March 26 at the Maryland Invitational.
