The Colonials saw 15 different individuals return for evening finals, while freshmen Lynn Zhang, Elisabeth Vogel, Gemma Atherley, Kimberly White, Alli Lapps and Jackie Torrez, and junior Abigail Fusco each competed in two individual finals.
"I'm very happy here with our ladies' performance over three days in Cleveland," said second-year head coach James Winchester. "We had some good performances on the boards and some great performances in the pool. A lot of freshmen stepped up as well as a lot of upperclassmen."
Torrez continued her stellar weekend with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:04.08 to jump into second on GW's all-time top-10 list. Senior Lauren Law took 17th in the event in 2:09.14.
Torrez came close to GW's program record in the 200 breaststroke, posting a time of 2:20.41 in the preliminaries - just .35 seconds off the school mark - to earn a spot in the A final. The rookie returned to take sixth in 2:20.94. Vogel placed 31st in 3:20.48.
"Jackie Torrez definitely had a great weekend across the board with many top-10 swims in our program history and knocking on the door of our 200 breaststroke school record as well," said Winchester. "She's working hard in the pool and the results are definitely showing. She's definitely having a great start to her Colonial career."
Sophomore Lucy Castro led a strong GW pack in the 1,650 freestyle, touching the wall sixth in 17:30.02, just ahead of senior Selin Ozturk in 10th (17:38.42) and freshman Emily Hample in 16th (17:51.74).
Atherley posted her best performance of the day in the 200 backstroke, taking eighth in 2:04.28 - good for fourth on GW's all-time list. Fusco took 18th in the event in 2:08.90, while White and Lapps finished in 35th (2:11.94) and 39th (2:16.13), respectively.

The Buff and Blue concluded the meet with a strong, fifth-place performance in the 400 free relay as the team of Fusco, Athlerley, Ozturk and Emily Zhang clocked in at 3:28.64.
"We definitely put a lot of investment into this meet, suited up and rested up and the results definitely showed," said Winchester. "Hopefully we can get back and get some hard work done and hopefully go a little quicker at the end of the year."
The Colonials will close fall semester competition on Dec. 3, when Richmond visits the Charles E. Smith Center.
