@GWCrossCountry to Run Locally at Catholic Invite on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The George Washington cross country teams return to action this Saturday at the Catholic Invitational on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Northeast Washington. The men's 6,000-meter race begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by the women's 6K installment.
Also competing at the event will be the host Cardinals, American, Goucher, Howard, Juniata and Moravian.
The men's and women's teams combined for a total of five top-15 finishes in the season-opening Mount St. Mary's Duals last weekend.
Sophomore Ryan Tucker finished in sixth place out of 35 runners to lead the men's team to a third-place finish. Also finishing in the top-15 were freshmen duo Jordan Pantalone (13th place) and Seamus Roddy (14th place).
On the women's side, graduate Angela Ryck finished in fifth place out of 80 runners with freshman Ariana North (13th) joining her in the top 15. As a team, the women finished in fifth place.
Saturday marks the first of two consecutive local meets. Next weekend, the men's and women's teams will return to the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
