Colonials Fall to Rival Georgetown in 1998 Cup

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington Women's rowing team resumed action on Sunday afternoon against rival Georgetown and fell in the Varsity Eight race by nine seconds. The Hoyas finished with a time of 6:23.2 and the Colonials boat crossed the finish line with a time of 6:32.5
The Colonials did bounce back though and won the 2nd Varsity Eight race by over five seconds. The George Washington boat finished with a time of 6:36.0 and the Georgetown boat finished with a time of 6:41.7.
In the final race the Georgetown Varsity four boat won the three-boat race as the Colonials had two Varsity Four boats enter the race. The Georgetown boat finished with a time of 7:33.9 and the two Colonial boats finished with times of 7:39.8 and 7:40.1.
The Colonials will return to action next weekend when they travel to Camden, NJ for the Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 16th. First race is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. EST.
