GW Rowing Continues Fall Race Schedule

BOSTON, MA - The George Washington University Men's and Women's Rowing teams continued their fall racing schedules at the massive Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston, MA on Sunday afternoon.
The conditions on the Charles were beautiful with flat water as the Colonials raced in the Championship Eights Men Event and finished in 29th-place out of 35 crews. GW completed the three-mile course in 15:17.29.

The Championship Eight Men's Event was won by the University of Washington who finished the course in 14:00.40.
The GW Women's Rowing team raced in the Championship Eights Women Event and finished in 25th-place out of 30 competing crews, finishing in 17:23.62.

"It was great to race in the historic Head of Charles event on Sunday. The Championship Eight event boasts some of the fastest crews in the country. It was great to line up against them", said head coach Eric Carcich.
The Championship Eight Women's Event was won by Princeton University who finished the course in 15:48.31.
"Many lessons were learned this weekend. We are excited to get back to work on the water on Tuesday morning."
The GW rowing teams will return to action on Saturday at the Princeton Chase in Princeton, NJ. The men's team will look to improve on their impressive seventh-place finish in 2009.
