The pair recognized as top performers in men’s collegiate rowing
John Knies and Max Hanna of GW men's rowing have been named Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) All-Americans, the IRCA Board of Directors announced on Wednesday.Â
Knies and Hanna are among the association's inaugural list of All-Americans.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Knies earned first-team recognition after rowing the sixth seat in GW's varsity eight boat throughout the 2021 spring season.Â
Hanna rowed the fifth seat of the varsity eight boat and received second-team honors.Â
The pair helped the Buff and Blue cumulate a historic 12th place finish in the varsity eight boat at this year's IRA National Championships.Â
