GW Names Chandra Bierwirth Assistant AD for Compliance

WASHINGTON, DC -- Chandra V. Bierwirth has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at The George Washington University, Director of Athletics Jack Kvancz has announced. Bierwirth will be responsible for the athletic department's compliance with NCAA and Atlantic 10 Conference regulations for all 22 varsity programs. She replaces Susie Jones who retired June 30 after more than 17 years.
Bierwirth comes to GW from Marist College where she has served as Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator for the past eight years.
Bierwirth also was the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Academic Support at Coppin State College in Baltimore from 1995-97.
A 1992 graduate of the University of Vermont, Bierwirth earned a master's degree in higher education from GW in 1995.
